This friend is Cardamine hirsute from the mustard family, called hairy bittercress. It is also called springcress, flick weed or shot weed -- the elongated seed pods explode with fireworks of seedling projectiles if they are touched or brushed against when they're ready to pop. It's so neat to walk through them with all of the seeds popping. A lot of it was growing on the front hill before it started drying out and got mowed. I did get to harvest and eat some. Lovely in dips, salads & stir-fries. :-)
Beautiful words and pictures... deep bows to your mom & the regenerative farming friends (& to you of course!).
May I ask what plant that is with the seed pods? 💚

My first bittercress adventure, before Johanna helped me identify the name to look it up: https://intuitivepublicradio.substack.com/p/these-slender-shoots-are-exploding 🥰🌿🌾✨
Neat!! I don’t think I’ve ever had (or heard of) that one. The “exploding seed pods” is especially interesting!
